Laurel and Carson | The White Room St Augustine Florida Wedding

Laurel + Carson were married yesterday at The White Room in St. Augustine Florida. We couldn’t wait to come straight home and get this wedding on the blog, you are all in for a big treat because this was one gorgeous wedding day. Both Carson and Laurel’s families are from southern Georgia and we mean it when we tell you they are the definition of southern hospitality.  Landon and my family are also from South Georgia, and as soon as we walked through the door we instantly felt at home. From the sweet Georgia accents to the kindest hearts, they made you instantly feel a part of family their family. It’s easy to see as soon as you meet Laurel and Carson their families raised them with some wholesome southern charm.

“Southern Children are raised on Sweet Tea and a whole lot of Jesus.”

Carson and Laurel went to the University of Georgia. Laurel was a cheerleader and Carson played football for the Georgia bulldogs. My whole family being from South Georgia meant I grew up with some hard-core DAWGS. My uncle and aunt are alumni and my mom, well let’s just say she believes God loves every team, but He loves the Bulldogs a little extra lol. She was so excited when she found out we would be photographing Laurel and Carson’s wedding, I honestly was worried she just may crash her first wedding (I’m kidding, kind of.)

We started the day out at the Kentwood Inn. This gorgeous bed and breakfast is in the heart of some really awesome back roads in St. Augustine. St. Augustine is a well know tourist city, but if you know the area like most local photographers do, you can find some absolutely gorgeous locations to shoot that have very little traffic flow through it. After hair and makeup was complete (by the talents of The Bardot Beauty Bar). we got Laurel in her dress and brought dad in for a first look. I can’t help it, I cry every time we photograph a Father – Daughter first look. There is just something about a Daddy seeing his little girl in her wedding dress that gets me every time.

“There was always love in daddy’s hands”

Laurel and Carson decided to do a First Look, and this was yet another time we remembered why we love first looks so much. Some couples get nervous about first looks simply because of tradition. Look, we are all about tradition, but a first look gives you something the traditional walk down the aisle doesn’t, it gives you a moment. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sure how this first look was going to go. Carson was a football player; the man is tough okay. Sometimes tough guys are determined not to cry, not to show emotion, Carson, well bless his heart he took one look at Laurel and out came the water works. It was literally the sweetest thing ever. It’s a moment they will never forget, and it warmed our hearts to witness the way he loves her. First looks are truly a once in a lifetime moment, but don’t take our word for it, look at the images and judge for yourself.

“Live for the Moments you can’t put into Words.”

Laurel and Carson were married at The White Room in the Villa Blanca. Their reception was held in the ballroom and let me tell you it was breath taking. We LOVE flowers, and Tula Rose Events out did themselves on Laurel and Carson’s florals. We know a lot of couples try to cut the budget down by spending less on flowers. We have heard time and time again “we don’t want a lot of flowers, they are just going to die.” Yes, flowers die, but what doesn’t die are the stunning images they help create. Florals add a touch of elegance to your wedding like nothing else can. When you see the absolute gorgeous ceremony and reception photos, make sure you take time to really appreciate the hard work Tula Rose put into the design, they took an already beautiful wedding and created a masterpiece. The reception was a PARTY! DJ Jacob Towe had everyone on the dance floor the entire night. It was a night of laughter, dancing, and memories.

Yesterday was out first 2019 wedding and let me tell you if it’s any indication as to what 2019 hold, it’s going to be a good year y’all!
